Dave Regan, president of SEIU United Health Workers West and a key figure behind California's proposed billionaire tax measure, faces accusations of threatening women and attempting to extort support for the initiative. The Los Angeles Times reported that Regan is under investigation for allegedly pressuring an SEIU state council for an endorsement.

Reports also allege that Regan threatened and intimidated women employed by the council and physically assaulted a former SEIU executive. Regan has denied the allegations, according to the LA Times.

Regan has been a prominent advocate for the "Billionaire Tax Now" coalition, which aims to increase taxes on high-net-worth individuals in California. Healthcare workers and supporters have previously rallied in Los Angeles in support of the measure. Healthcare workers protest, holding signs that read "Billionaire Tax Now" and "Hospitals ERs Open". Representative Ro Khanna, a Democrat from California, has also been seen participating in rallies alongside Regan in support of the initiative.
