The California Post has reluctantly endorsed incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in the race for Los Angeles mayor, citing her experience over what it calls the "radical socialist" City Councilwoman Nithya Raman. The publication argued that neither candidate has fully earned the city's vote, but Bass offers a more pragmatic choice.

In its endorsement, the California Post pointed to Bass's handling of the Palisades wildfire and her initial promise to reduce homelessness. However, it noted that the number of homeless individuals in the city has begun to rise again after an initial two-year decline. The publication criticized Raman for her stances on law enforcement and her past association with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), which it claims advocates for seizing private property and halting the clearing of homeless encampments. Raman's voting record, including votes against clearing encampments near schools, was highlighted as evidence of her alignment with these policies.

The California Post also criticized Raman for missing numerous City Council votes and meetings, including those of the homelessness committee she chaired. The publication further accused Raman of introducing "hatred and antisemitism" into the mayoral race by defending appearances on podcasts hosted by controversial figures.

While acknowledging Bass's perceived failings, the endorsement suggests she has learned from them and is more capable of leading Los Angeles. The publication expressed a desire for a vibrant, opportunity-filled, and united Los Angeles, suggesting Raman's policies would be divisive and detrimental to the city's progress. The California Post concluded that Raman cannot be trusted as a leader for Los Angeles, particularly at a time when the city cannot afford setbacks.
