Ventana Grill, a popular oceanfront restaurant and wedding venue in Pismo Beach, California, is ceasing operations permanently on September 12. The abrupt closure has left couples with upcoming weddings scrambling to secure new venues and accommodations.

Staff at Ventana Grill confirmed the permanent closure but provided little information regarding the reason for the sudden shutdown, according to The San Luis Obispo Tribune. Coordinators for the venue were reportedly already working with affected couples to find alternative arrangements for their events.

The restaurant's website was offline as of Saturday, and reservation platforms like OpenTable showed no availability beyond the September 12 closing date. The venue, located at 2575 Price St., has been a popular destination for locals, tourists, and events since opening in April 2010, following extensive renovations of the former Pelican Point restaurant.

Ventana Grill was known for its panoramic 180-degree coastal views. It also featured a unique attraction known as the "staircase to nowhere." The venue's kitchen was led by former executive chef Ricardo Ortega, who specialized in cuisine inspired by Latin America and California. Ortega also previously served as chef at Custom House in Avila Beach.
