Angelica Brophy, a 44-year-old nurse and mother from Southern California, has been reported missing. She was last seen on July 6, according to KNSD, when she visited Harrah’s Resort Southern California casino and then drove to Palomar Mountain, an area she frequented.
Brophy did not pick up her daughter from summer camp as expected later that afternoon. Her husband subsequently contacted the Oceanside Police Department to file a missing persons report. Attempts to reach Brophy on her cell phone were unsuccessful, as the device was either dead or turned off.
Days after her disappearance, investigators located Brophy's car in a parking lot at Palomar State Park. There were no immediate signs of her at the scene.
Family members, who described Brophy as a nurse at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Marcos, California, have expressed their desire to remain positive. Her sister-in-law, Lisa Fabregas, called her "one of the most wonderful, thoughtful women that I know" and a devoted mother.
A missing persons poster created by her family indicates Brophy is 5'5" and was last seen wearing black leggings and a gray T-shirt. She is described as being 5'5" and 130 pounds.
Oceanside Police Captain Nick Nunez stated that, as of the latest information, there are no indications of foul play in Brophy's disappearance. Detectives are reportedly contacting Harrah’s Casino to ascertain if Brophy was accompanied or followed during her visit.
Anyone with information regarding Angelica Brophy's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Oceanside Police Department at (760) 435-4900.
