California Man Arrested After Allegedly Fatally Stabbing Wife's Lover

A California man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of his wife's lover. Ismael Pinedalopez, 34, is accused of killing Nicholas Garcia, 28, at his Anaheim home on October 24. Authorities allege Pinedalopez discovered Garcia in his bed with their two young children, aged two and four.

Dramatic video footage captured the moment Pinedalopez was taken into custody. The video shows him walking calmly as two officers escort him to a waiting police vehicle. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. Pinedalopez reportedly did not harm his wife or children during the incident.

Neighbors described hearing a commotion around 4:15 a.m. and police ordering someone to exit the residence. One neighbor, Elizabeth Polanco, 71, stated that Pinedalopez worked night shifts and cared for the children while his wife worked during the day. Officials indicated that Pinedalopez returned home early from work and found his wife with Garcia.

Polanco expressed surprise at the events, stating she had no prior indication of marital problems and considered the couple to be "nice people." She also commented on the wife, calling her a "very good girl" but acknowledging potential irresponsibility if the infidelity allegations were true. Polanco noted Pinedalopez's demeanor as "very nice, easy going, never upset," and that he "was always there with the kids."

Pinedalopez has been charged with felony murder, with an additional enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon. He faces a potential maximum sentence of 26 years to life if convicted. His arraignment and bail review are scheduled for December 1. Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer voiced concern over the children witnessing the alleged murder, stating, "Violence is never the answer, and it is truly heartbreaking that these young children had to witness their father commit such a horrific act of brutality in their own home."
