California High School Football Coach Arrested After Alleged Locker Room Recording

A high school football coach in California has been arrested on campus on suspicion of secretly recording students in the boys' locker room. Jeffrey Pribble, a teacher and varsity football coach at Tracy High School, was taken into custody Friday afternoon.

According to reports, students discovered a phone recording them while they were changing in the locker room. They reportedly stopped the recording, deleted the footage, and handed the phone to school staff, who later determined it belonged to Pribble. The Tracy Police Department alleges the phone was being used to film students in a private space where they had a reasonable expectation of privacy.

Pribble faces a misdemeanor charge related to the use of a concealed camera to secretly record individuals in a private setting. He was issued a citation and released. The Tracy Unified School District has stated that Pribble is on leave and that the district is "deeply concerned about the allegations and remain focused on protecting the safety of our students."

Pribble has served as the head coach for the Tracy High Bulldogs football team since 2021. The team is currently undefeated this season, with Johnnie Oh listed as the interim head coach.

This incident follows another case involving a high school football coach, Travis Turner, who went missing in November 2025 from Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Police had sought Turner for alleged child sex offenses. He was last seen heading into wooded areas with a firearm, and authorities are still searching for him. Turner is wanted on five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor. He had previously led Union High School to an undefeated season.
