A significant shipment of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, totaling over 50,000 cans, has gone missing from Montclair, California, with the iconic beer company now offering a reward for information leading to its recovery. The truck, carrying 1,602 cases of PBR and nearly 200 cases of Old Milwaukee Non-Alcoholic Beer, failed to arrive at its scheduled delivery appointment on August 17.
The value of the stolen shipment is estimated at around $45,000. According to Montclair Police, the truck was last seen at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center in the 4500 block of Brooks Street on August 17. A subcontractor was scheduled to make the delivery, but the vehicle never reached its destination.
Pabst Blue Ribbon took to Instagram on August 21 to address the situation, humorously appealing to the perpetrators. "To the thief: we don’t fault you for wanting to brag to your friends how much PBR you have, we just wish you obtained it the honorable way," the company stated. They announced a 18-day, 44-minute window for the truck's return with no questions asked, promising a reward for anyone who can help solve the mystery.
The company acknowledged the unusual nature of the situation, admitting they do not have a precise description of the truck. "We realize how ridiculous that sounds, but it’s the truth," they wrote in their post. Pabst also indicated they have filed a police report and are cooperating with local authorities to locate the missing vehicle and its contents.
"We also appreciate all the individuals who have been sharing possible sightings of the truck," a Pabst spokesperson told Men's Journal on August 28. "At this time, we don’t have any further information to share beyond what was released in the Police report. We hope that whoever managed to steal our truck also knows the importance of keeping beer cold."
