Caleb Williams Pushes Back on Hamstring Injury Reporting
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams stated that national reports regarding his hamstring injury grade have been inaccurate.
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams returned to full practice on Thursday, the first time he has participated fully in nearly a month. However, his availability for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons remains undecided pending medical clearance.
During a press conference, Williams addressed the media's inquiries about his hamstring injury, which he described as "pretty serious." He refused to disclose the medical grade of the tear, stating that the information being reported was not accurate. "There's nothing that has come out that has been right about what it is and what it has been," Williams said. He emphasized that he would only play if he was medically cleared and ready.
Williams sustained the injury in the fourth quarter of the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He felt a "pop" while scrambling and was subsequently carted off the field in visible distress. He explained his emotional reaction was due to his desire to be on the field with his teammates.
Williams underwent extensive rehabilitation, including five to six hours of daily therapy, and reported recently reaching top sprint speeds in his workouts. While he has logged consecutive full practice sessions this week, his status for Sunday's game is contingent on final medical approval.
