Caleb Williams Carted Off Field with Hamstring Injury
Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams suffered a non-contact hamstring injury and was carted off the field during Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was carted off the field on Sunday with what appeared to be a non-contact hamstring injury to his right leg. The incident occurred in the fourth quarter of the Bears' 9-3 loss to the Vikings at Soldier Field.
With the Bears trailing 6-3 and approximately 7:30 remaining in the game, Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, scrambled to his left on a first-and-goal play from the Minnesota 6-yard line. He fell awkwardly on the wet turf without being touched by an opposing player.
Williams was seen with a towel over his head but raised his fist to the home crowd as he was being taken off the field.
Prior to the injury, Williams had completed 15 of 28 passes for 138 yards and one interception, with 42 rushing yards. He had led the Bears to a 59-37 victory over Carolina in Week 1.
Backup quarterback Tyler Bagent replaced Williams. The Vikings went on to block a potential game-tying field goal on fourth down and secured their victory with an additional field goal in the final minutes of the game.
