Caleb Williams Blasts Media Reports on Hamstring Injury

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams stated Thursday that media reports regarding his Week 2 hamstring injury have been inaccurate. During a press conference, Williams said that any information released about his condition that did not come directly from him was incorrect.

"There is nothing that has come out that has been right about what it is and what it has been," Williams said. "I would say from y’all’s side is being able to report it and go through it in the right way. And then from there, if you haven’t heard it from bossman himself or out of the horse’s mouth, me, it would probably be wrong. Every single one has been."

When asked about the grade of his hamstring strain, Williams declined to provide details, stating the injury did not warrant further discussion after previous "false ones." He also addressed the criticism he received for showing emotion, including tears, when he was carted off the field after suffering the injury.

"Yeah, I’m always going to show emotion, especially when I can’t be out there with the guys," Williams explained. "I care about the team, the organization, winning, being out there, my teammates — all of that. I care, and that’s the biggest thing. This is what I love to do. This puts a smile on my face. It’s everything to me. So, not being able to be out there was frustrating. That was more of the tears, or whatever that was."

Williams, 24, has been a full participant in practice for two consecutive days and appears close to returning for Sunday's game against the Falcons. The Bears have maintained a 2-1 record in his absence. This season, Williams has thrown for 407 yards with two touchdowns, completing 65.5 percent of his passes.
