Caleb Flynn's Mistress Lost Devices Before Wife's Murder, Court Hears
Testimony reveals a mistress of the former 'American Idol' contestant lost a laptop and cell phone shortly before his wife was killed.
Caleb Flynn's mistress lost her laptop and cell phone during a vacation to Florida just one month before the "American Idol" singer's wife, Ashley Flynn, was fatally shot, according to testimony in court.
Tipp City Police Captain Tony Smith stated that Alleigha Botner, with whom Flynn allegedly had a long-term affair, lost her laptop on a plane and her phone in the water during a January 2026 trip. It is unknown if Flynn accompanied her on this vacation.
Ashley Flynn, 37, was found shot to death in her home in February 2026 while she was sleeping. Prosecutors contend that Caleb Flynn staged the scene to appear as a burglary, aiming to conceal his affair and maintain his lifestyle and career. Flynn, 40, has pleaded not guilty to all charges, maintaining that an intruder killed his wife while he and their two young daughters slept in an adjacent room.
During the trial, Detective Brad Klein of the Tipp City Police Department testified that he responded to the Flynn residence on February 16, 2026. He observed that several doors appeared to have been forced open, but he stated that the scene was inconsistent with typical break-ins due to the location of the debris, which was found inside the garage.
Captain Smith also noted that Ashley Flynn had a $100,000 life insurance policy, with Caleb Flynn listed as the sole beneficiary. The trial is ongoing, with "Daily Mail" reporting live from the courtroom.
