Caitlin Clark to Skip LPGA Pro-Am for First Time in WNBA Career
The basketball star, a previous participant, will not be playing in The Annika at Pelican Golf Club this year.
WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark will not participate in the pro-am event at The Annika at Pelican Golf Club next month, marking the first time she has missed the LPGA's penultimate tournament of the year during her WNBA career. Clark had previously taken part in the event in 2024 and 2025, drawing significant attention.
"She is not going to be playing this year," Mike Nichols, chief of sponsorship strategy and activation for Group 1001, told Golfweek on Thursday. "We have enjoyed the energy she has brought to the tournament the last two years and look forward to having her back in the future."
The Annika is scheduled to take place from November 12-15 at the Belleair, Florida, golf course. Clark's participation in prior years elevated the tournament's profile, with The Golf Channel dedicating a three-hour program to the event in the past.
In 2025, Clark was joined by Indiana Fever teammates Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull during the pro-am. Clark also teamed up with golfer Nelly Korda during the event, fostering a connection between the two athletes. Clark has previously expressed admiration for Korda, stating that "she just makes the game of golf look really easy."
