Donald Trump's assertion of a packed rally in San Antonio, Texas, was met with immediate visual contradiction from a C-SPAN camera operator. During a midterms rally at the Freeman Coliseum, Trump claimed the venue was filled to capacity, with "two miles long" lines of people unable to get inside.
"Look at this place. Every corner. They will say they spotted an empty seat," Trump said, adding that he warned attendees not to leave their seats, "because the fake news will take a picture of two empty seats and they’ll say Trump did not fill up."
As the former president made these claims, C-SPAN's camera panned across the upper sections of the arena, revealing numerous empty seats. Trump then suggested that attendees had migrated from the upper rows to other parts of the venue, attempting to explain the visible gaps. He concluded by falsely asserting, "We max out everything you’ve ever seen. There’s never been anything like it."
