Butcher's Sausages Win Top Honors at Awards
A Sydney butcher shop received 15 medals, including seven gold, at the 2026 Sausage King Awards, with two varieties scoring a perfect 100/100.
Millin's Free Range Butcher, located in Balgowlah Heights, Sydney, has been recognized as the most awarded butcher shop in New South Wales after securing 15 medals at the 2026 Sausage King Awards. The shop's offerings included seven gold medals, four silver, and four bronze.
Two of Millin's sausage varieties achieved a perfect score of 100/100 from industry judges. The Satay Chicken Malay was named the NSW State Champion and will advance to the National Championships. The Wagyu Beef, Truffle & Gruyère Cheese also received a perfect score. Judging criteria focused on culinary workmanship, flavor balance, and creativity.
"Winning one Gold is tough, but scoring a perfect 100 on two different sausages is such an important achievement for our hardworking team," said Stef Millin, owner and Master Butcher. "We don't just make classic bangers; we treat sausage-making like high-end culinary art. Taking a classic like Philly Cheesesteak or Thai Green Curry and translating those exact flavour profiles into a sausage casing requires precise balance."
Millin attributed the success to his team's dedication to quality, creativity, and butchery craftsmanship. "To walk away as the most awarded shop in the state shows that our team's obsession with quality really paid off," he stated. "From sourcing quality meat to developing our own recipes and pushing the boundaries of what a sausage can be, we genuinely love what we do."
Other gold medal winners included Beef Philly Cheesesteak, Thai Green Curry Chicken, Chorizo Lamb Burger, and Moroccan Lamb & Raisin Burger. Additionally, the Pork Chilli & Fennel sausage was recognized as the top sausage in Sydney and the second-best in NSW.
Millin's Free Range Butcher is inviting customers to sample their award-winning sausages. Customer reviews on Google have praised the butcher, with one customer describing it as "an absolute gem of a find" and their sausages as "hands down the best in the business - consistently flavour-packed, perfectly made, and honestly unmatched anywhere in Sydney."
