San Francisco Giants executive Buster Posey directly addressed a KNBR producer's remark that he "sucks," which was caught on a hot mic three weeks prior. During his Thursday appearance on the KNBR morning show "Murph & Markus," Posey concluded his interview by stating, "Make sure the mics aren't hot before you talk trash about me."
The incident occurred after Posey's interview when an unnamed producer, unaware the microphone was still active, said, "Posey sucks, man."
Hosts Markus Boucher and John Dickinson, who was guest hosting, laughed off the comment. Boucher reassured Posey that the "behind-the-scenes boys" would be more careful with the microphones in the future. "Appreciate you. Love you, Buster. Thank you, man. Buster Posey with the mic drop. Yea, his mic was hot for that one," Boucher said.
Posey, who serves as the Giants' President of Baseball Operations, has been a subject of criticism this season due to the team's performance and his handling of various situations. The Giants have struggled significantly under first-year manager Tony Vitello and were active sellers at the trade deadline. Posey has also faced scrutiny for his public responses, including his handling of a controversy surrounding the team's LGBTQ Pride Night, where he reportedly lacked answers for reporters.
