James Bourne, a member of the British band Busted, has been seen in London with Matthew Koma, the husband of American actress Hilary Duff. Bourne, 43, has been undergoing a period of recovery following what he described as "major surgery to extend his life."

Bourne, who had previously pulled out of Busted's tour with McFly in September due to his health, shared an update in April on his social media. He stated that he was preparing for significant surgery, expressing that "there is hope" for his recovery. He also noted that this period had given him "the gift of time," which he used to work on a new musical project, "Murder At The Gates," a project he had been developing for 13 years.

In a July post, Bourne indicated that he would provide further health updates via his Spotify bio, as he was taking a break from Instagram. He described his situation as a "long story" and that he was "still not out of the woods yet," thanking fans for their support.

Bourne explained that he did not want his health issues to prevent him from promoting his new musical work. He expressed a fear of not finishing the project but felt compelled to deliver it to the public. He viewed the time he gained from not touring as an opportunity to turn a negative situation into a positive one.

His bandmate, Matt Willis, had previously provided an update on Good Morning Britain, stating that Bourne was "not very well, but he's getting better" and was "on the mend."

Bourne officially announced his withdrawal from the VS tour in a statement, citing that he was "not in good enough health to play these shows." He indicated that while he had limited information about his condition, the decision was unanimous among himself, his bandmates, and management to prioritize his medical treatment. He expressed hope for a return to performing in the future.

Matthew Koma is currently in London with his wife, Hilary Duff, who is performing as part of her "The Lucky Me Tour" with La Roux at the O2 Arena.
