A 25-year-old bus driver, Auguste-Marie Bile-aka Amoa, was fatally shot outside The Landor pub in Clapham, south London, in what authorities are investigating as a potential case of mistaken identity. Police believe Bile-aka was dropping off his girlfriend at the pub on Willington Road when he was shot and killed.

A 22-year-old man presented himself at a hospital with a gunshot wound shortly after the incident and was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in hospital, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Friends and colleagues have paid tribute to Bile-aka, describing him as a humble, hardworking, and kind-hearted individual. Floral tributes and candles have been placed near the scene of the shooting.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots. One resident stated they heard five bangs, initially mistaking them for car backfires, while another heard three shots and saw someone run from the pub shouting for police. A moped and a white car were seen driving away from the area before officers arrived.

Emergency services arrived within minutes, but Bile-aka was pronounced dead at the scene. Staff from The Landor pub are understood to have provided assistance after the shooting. A police forensics tent was erected near the pub, and uniformed officers were present in the area.

Detective Chief Inspector Claire Guiver appealed for anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage to come forward, stating that any information could be vital to understanding the circumstances of the incident. Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond acknowledged the community's concern and confirmed an increased police presence in the area.

Clapham has experienced several incidents of violence in recent years, including a fatal stabbing last month and another shooting incident last year.
