Burnham Signals Potential Return to EU Platform for Next Election
Prime Minister Andy Burnham has hinted at campaigning on rejoining the European Union, while asserting that ministers must support free movement to retain their positions.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has suggested that he may contest the next election on a platform advocating for Britain's return to the European Union. Speaking on ITV's Good Morning Britain, Burnham stated he was "not proposing any changes in this Parliament" but did not rule out such a stance for future elections.
This comes after recent indications from the Prime Minister that he is open to reconsidering the European Union's free movement rules. Burnham noted that the nature of immigration into the UK has shifted since Brexit, with an increase in foreigners establishing permanent residency rather than returning to their home countries.
Should this policy be adopted, members of the Labour front bench would be required to publicly support it, or face potential dismissal from their roles.
