Burberry Closes London Fashion Week with Leather Focus and Star-Studded Front Row

Burberry concluded London Fashion Week with a collection that emphasized leather looks and trench coats, a theme echoed by an exhibition at the V&A Museum titled "The Burberry Trench: Crafting An Icon." The show, held at Chelsea College of Art, attracted a notable front row.
Model and brand ambassador Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 39, wore a black leather calf-length coat with epaulettes and a cinched waist. She was joined by Romeo Beckham, 24, and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 25, who opted for a cropped beige iteration. Actress Fiona Shaw, 68, also appeared in a variation of the trench coat.
Other guests embraced the leather trend. Gemma Chan, 43, wore a black leather boiler suit, while Jodie Turner-Smith, 40, donned a brown leather jacket paired with black leather knee boots. The choice of heavier materials was notable given the 20C (68F) weather.
In contrast, some attendees deviated from the dominant leather theme. Model Lila Moss, 23, wore a shimmering cowl-neck lurex mini-dress. Model Iris Law, 25, opted for a denim jacket and dark-wash jeans.
On the runway, creative director Daniel Lee presented Burberry's spring/summer 2027 collection, which featured lighter fabrics and colors more suited to warmer weather. The show opened with a pale pink taffeta trench coat in a voluminous silhouette, followed by coats in daffodil yellow and pale green. Skirts and dresses were adorned with floral prints and embroidery. Lighter materials such as nylon and parachute silk were used, with some looks including nylon windcheaters, bucket hats, and low-slung baggy jeans, suggesting an aesthetic suitable for festival wear.
