Bunnings Launches $2 Mystery Shoe Charms Amid Collectible Craze

Bunnings has launched a new range of $2 Mystery Box Shoe Charms, featuring six collectable designs inspired by the hardware retailer's iconic imagery. The collection includes miniature versions of a straw hat, trade hoodie, Bunnings Warehouse logo, hammer, and bucket, with a rare sausage sanga charm available as a sought-after item.

The charms are available in-store and online, priced at $2 in Australia and $2.50 in New Zealand, while stocks last. This release follows the success of previous collectable items, such as the Mystery Box Mini Bears, which transformed Bunnings stores into treasure-hunting grounds for shoppers. The mini bears, priced at $12.50, became a sensation last year, with a second series launched nationally on July 6.

Justine Mills, Bunnings Director of Marketing & Retail Media, stated that the new charm range aims to replicate the "sense of fun" experienced with the mini bears. "With six designs inspired by Bunnings favourites - from our iconic straw hat to the rare sausage sanga charm - the range gives customers another way to collect, share and trade with family and friends," Mills said.

While primarily designed as shoe charms for compatible footwear, the company notes that they can also be attached to other items like drink bottles, pencil cases, and accessories. The trend taps into a broader consumer interest in nostalgia, tiny collectables, and the element of surprise found in blind-box purchases. The initial release of the mini bears, which included four standard designs and one rare secret bear, prompted dedicated shoppers to visit stores early in hopes of completing the full set. The $2 price point and the inclusion of a rare "sausage sanga" charm are expected to drive similar enthusiasm for the new shoe charms.
