Bunnie Xo recently addressed the infidelity of her ex-husband Jelly Roll, describing the pain of betrayal as a profound emotional experience that goes beyond the act itself. Speaking on her "Dumb Blonde" podcast, Bunnie Xo explained that the "whiplash" from an affair stems primarily from the lies involved, rather than the infidelity itself.

"Betrayal trauma literally rewires your brain to not trust people, to just feel disgusting because you’re the last to know," she said during an episode with guest Denise Richards. Bunnie Xo characterized this as "a different kind of hurt," emphasizing the feeling of being the last to be informed.

Jelly Roll, whose legal name is Jason DeFord, publicly disclosed his past affair on the "Human School" podcast in October 2025. He recounted being influenced by associates who were unfaithful to their own wives during that period. The Grammy winner stated that he "worked hard to repair the relationship," which he described as a special process that ultimately made their bond stronger. The couple renewed their vows in 2023, though they later divorced, with the proceedings finalized in July.

Bunnie Xo further detailed the emotional toll of the affair in her February memoir, "Stripped Down." She wrote about contemplating suicide in the wake of Jelly Roll's infidelity, which occurred a few years after their August 2016 wedding. She recalled the intensity of the pain but ultimately chose to persevere, adopting a mindset of starting anew each day.

Despite their separation and subsequent divorce, both Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll have spoken positively about each other. In July, Bunnie Xo was seen with Dylan Wolf at Jelly Roll's bar, an interaction she stated the singer had no issue with. Jelly Roll had reportedly begun dating by the time Bunnie Xo filmed a divorce episode in June.
