Bunnie Xo described her divorce from country star Jelly Roll as a "blessing" and a "beautifully tragic" experience, emphasizing that she sees a "silver lining" and a chance for a better future.
In an interview with the "Today" show, Bunnie Xo, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, stated that she still wants to have a baby following her separation from the musician. She indicated that this desire will be a significant part of her next book, describing it as "one hell of a journey."
After nearly a decade of marriage, Bunnie Xo expressed enjoyment in her single status, telling the hosts, "Ladies, they should’ve never let me back out in the streets because I love it here, and I’m never going back." She shared her belief that women often put their own needs aside for partners, friends, or children and that it is sometimes necessary to be "selfish" and "pour into yourself."
Bunnie Xo hopes her experiences can encourage others facing difficult situations, suggesting that "it doesn’t matter how hard of a situation you’re going through, you’re going get through that, you’re going to rise up and you’re going to be an even better version of yourself."
Jelly Roll, 41, filed for divorce on May 18, citing "irreconcilable differences." The former couple settled their divorce in July. Despite the separation, Jelly Roll stated in June during a concert that he and Bunnie Xo "will always be best friends."
Bunnie Xo noted that her direct messages have become a "freakin smorgasbord" of dating prospects since the divorce, finding amusement at the quality of some of the pickup lines she has received.
She added that while she doesn't view herself as a "role model," she would be pleased if her journey could inspire others. "if there’s something I can do that can encourage and inspire anybody along the way, then I hope that they get to take bits and pieces of my mistakes and my journey and apply it to their life," she said.
The couple initially married in Las Vegas in 2016. After a split in 2018, they continued their marriage for another eight years before the recent divorce proceedings.
