Buccaneers Coach Todd Bowles Takes Hit During Celebration

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles experienced a painful sideline moment during his team's upset victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. While celebrating the Bucs' 24-16 win at AT&T Stadium, Bowles was seen grimacing in pain and taking a knee.

According to ESPN, the 62-year-old coach sustained the injury after taking a helmet to the stomach during the team's post-interception celebration. The interception helped seal the Buccaneers' win. Bowles indicated he would be alright.

Bowles' injury occurred amidst a significant victory for the Buccaneers, who entered the game as underdogs. The team, with rookie undrafted quarterback Jalon Daniels making his second career start, dominated possession, holding the ball for over 39 minutes. They also forced three turnovers: two interceptions of Dak Prescott and a fumble on a kickoff return.

Daniels completed 19 of 25 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown. Running back Bucky Irving was a key contributor, rushing for 165 yards on 21 carries with a touchdown, and adding two receptions for 10 yards and a receiving touchdown.

The win marked a crucial turning point for the Buccaneers, who had lost their first four games of the season by a combined 20 points. They aim to build on this momentum when they face the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday.
