During their first UK performance since 2019, the global K-pop sensation BTS jokingly suggested they might be a good luck charm for the England national football team. The band's return to London for their 'Arirang' album tour kicked off amidst celebrations for an England football win.
The concert, held at Tottenham, featured a stage design inspired by Korean cultural landmarks, including a 360-degree setup with catwalks reminiscent of Gyeonghoeru Pavilion in Seoul's Gyeongbokgung Palace. The stage floor incorporated visual elements from the South Korean flag, and the audience was serenaded by the 1,200-year-old bell of King Seongdeck before the performance began.
BTS opened their show with pyrotechnics and fireworks, launching into songs like "Hooligan," which blended their signature harmonies with rap verses. The performance included approximately 50 dancers and a high-energy setlist that featured "Aliens" and "Run BTS." A medley of "FYA" (2026) and "Fire" (2016) reportedly caused the stadium stands to visibly bounce due to the fans' energetic jumping.
During their set, the members interacted with the crowd, spraying water and engaging with the audience. V of BTS remarked to the fans, "Honestly, you should just join the tour with us," eliciting a massive roar from the attendees. The song "Swim" also received a significant response, with Jimin noted to have removed his earpiece to better hear the fans singing along.
The concert marked BTS's return to the UK after a significant break, highlighting their continued global popularity. The group's playful comment about influencing the football team's success added a lighthearted element to their highly anticipated return to the London stage.
