Bryony Daniels, 44, who was once described as Prince William's "decoy" girlfriend, has married Adair Williams, nephew of the Duke of Sutherland. The couple exchanged vows last week at her family's Straithvaich estate in the Scottish Highlands.
Daniels gained public attention during her time at the University of St. Andrews, where she was frequently photographed with Prince William. Her presence was reportedly used to help deflect attention from the burgeoning romance between William and Kate Middleton. Like Middleton, Daniels also participated in the university's charity fashion show.
Daniels, an events organizer and daughter of a Suffolk landowner, was reportedly close to both the Prince and Princess of Wales during their university years. She was even invited to a pre-Christmas shooting party at Sandringham with the royals. She also attended William and Kate's 2011 wedding.
The wedding ceremony itself embraced a rustic, Highland theme, featuring an old-fashioned Land Rover, wellington boots, wildflowers, and raincoats, with champagne for the celebrations. Daniels wore a gold brocade wedding dress with a ruffled collar and a flowing white veil, accessorized with a gold headband. The newlyweds were photographed sharing a kiss and riding in the Land Rover, which served as their getaway vehicle.
Adair Williams, who holds a PhD in fluid dynamics and a degree in mechanical engineering, proposed to Daniels last October in the Highlands. He recently took over his family seat, Herringston House, a 13th-century manor, which Daniels is expected to help renovate.
While the Prince and Princess of Wales were not in attendance at the wedding, Daniels and Williams were surrounded by their loved ones for their intimate ceremony.
