Bryan Kohberger, convicted of murdering four University of Idaho students, has been granted a new court hearing as he seeks to withdraw his guilty plea. The hearing is scheduled for next June.
Kohberger filed for post-conviction relief in Ada County District Court on July 27. In his filing, the 31-year-old claims he was "advised to lie" by his legal counsel, which led him to accept the plea deal. He pleaded guilty to the murders of Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, and Xana Kernodle, which occurred in an off-campus apartment in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13, 2022.
