Paul Flack, the 55-year-old brother of late television presenter Caroline Flack, died on June 21, an inquest has been told. He was found unresponsive at his home in Norwich and later pronounced dead at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. A provisional cause of death was determined as cardiac arrest resulting from hanging. A full inquest is scheduled to take place in October.
Paul Flack's death occurred six years after his sister, Caroline Flack, took her own life. The former host of "Love Island" and "The X Factor" was found dead at her London home on February 15, 2020, at the age of 40. An inquest at the time concluded that she had died by suicide. The London inquest heard that the day before her death, Ms. Flack had learned she would be prosecuted and expressed fears of press intrusion.
Caroline Flack's death prompted widespread discussion about the impact of online hate and its effects on mental health. The siblings, both born in London, spent their formative years in Norfolk.
