Brookside Actress Jennifer Ellison Flaunts Post-Pregnancy Figure
The 43-year-old shared a bikini photo, having previously discussed her weight gain and the online criticism she faced.
Brookside icon Jennifer Ellison, 43, showcased her transformed physique in a recent social media post, a striking contrast to her previously revealed weight of 14 stone following childbirth.
Ellison, who is a mother to Bobby, 16, Harry, 13, and Charlie, 12, with her husband Robbie Tickle, has been open about the bodily changes she experienced and the rapid weight gain that followed her pregnancies. On Monday, she posted a photo on Instagram of herself in a red bikini.
Earlier this year, Ellison spoke with the Daily Mail about how motherhood significantly impacted her life, leading to weight gain attributed to a sugar addiction. She also detailed the harsh online comments she received, describing them as particularly vicious during her pregnancies. "People were writing things like, 'She's got the baby in her thighs. Look at the size of her!' 'She's eaten the baby.' How can anybody write that?" Ellison recalled. "But I had no worth for myself. I didn't look after myself. I was three stone heavier than I am now and I'd kind of lost myself."
Her weight reached 14 stone before she participated in Celebrity SAS in 2022. Following the show, she lost approximately three stone, an experience she credits with boosting her confidence and altering her relationship with exercise. "I just thought, 'Let’s just go and do it, and put myself in these awful situations because it’s a job, and it’s getting me back on telly,'" she said. "I started to love myself again."
Ellison, who has previously posed for men's magazines, discussed with the Daily Mirror the transition from being a pin-up to becoming a mother. "I had a career that was based on my body, so people homed in on that. They were used to seeing me in bikinis, looking great, looking really slim and then I put all this weight on," she explained. After being rejected for a role due to her weight, she felt compelled to make a change.
"I was a pin-up, and there I was with my mum tum. But I was just happy to have my little boy and I didn't care," she stated. She also described the challenges of returning to exercise after a 92-hour labor and an emergency caesarean, compounded by breastfeeding and not wanting to leave her infant son with a nanny. "I didn't want to hand Bobby over to a nanny so I could go to the gym. I couldn't have cared less what I looked like. All I cared about was being with him."
