Brooklyn Beckham Criticized for 'Basic' Cooking Skills

Brooklyn Beckham's culinary endeavors have once again drawn criticism online, with fans accusing the 27-year-old of employing basic techniques and unnecessarily complicating recipes. The latest critique follows a social media video in which Beckham prepared a Guinness and beer stew.

Viewers commented that Beckham appeared to be "messing about" with his ingredients, suggesting that a simpler method, such as using a slow cooker for the stew and preparing mashed potatoes separately, would be more efficient. "Why make it hard for yourself? All ingredients in the slow cooker... make mash potato and Job's a goodun... all this faffing about with ingredients isn't necessary," one user wrote. Another commented, "Very basic cooking, not a chef. A cook."

This is not the first time Beckham's cooking videos have faced scrutiny. Previously, he responded to criticism of a pasta dish that some followers deemed "vile" and described as "burnt." Beckham posted a meme from the sitcom Friends and stated on his story that the pasta was intended to be burnt, a technique some fans defended as a way to achieve a charred taste. However, others remained unconvinced, with comments ranging from "This looks… in a word – vile" to "Basically burnt pasta with jar sauce."

Brooklyn's latest video sparked complaints from fans as they claimed he was overdressing a 'basic' recipe, after it showed him cooking the meat and potatoes in separate pans

Further backlash occurred earlier in the summer when Beckham made a protein pizza using his own hot sauce brand and, in a previous instance, horrified fans by cooking pasta using seawater collected directly from the ocean during a stay on a luxury yacht. This method, shared on TikTok, also sparked controversy among his followers.

Beckham's father, David Beckham, is also known for his interest in cooking and completed a culinary course in Italy, learning to make dishes such as ragu and fresh pasta, and becoming particularly focused on perfecting risotto.

Despite the criticism, some fans have defended Beckham's cooking videos, with comments such as "Not gonna lie Brooklyn, that looks damn tasty" and "It looks delish. Heck w the haters/food snobs. loved watching you cook and I'll give this one a try."
