Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz are reportedly choosing to no longer celebrate their first wedding anniversary, opting instead to mark a subsequent vow renewal ceremony due to negative associations with their initial nuptials.

Sources close to the couple claim the April 2022 wedding, attended by Beckham's family, is not an occasion they recall fondly, with one insider stating, "Nicola ended up in tears. It's not something they want to be reminded of."

The couple officially married in a three-day event at the Peltz family estate in Palm Beach in April 2022, with 500 guests in attendance. However, they later renewed their vows in August 2025 without inviting the Beckham family.

This shift in anniversary celebration comes as the couple continues to create distance from Brooklyn Beckham's family. Neither Beckham nor Peltz publicly marked their original wedding anniversary in April. In contrast, both recently shared Instagram posts celebrating their vow renewal in August.

Brooklyn Beckham referred to his wife as his "absolute princess" in a recent post, expressing his love and gratitude. Nicola Peltz reciprocated the sentiment, calling him the "most amazing husband."

Earlier this year, Brooklyn Beckham released a statement detailing alleged difficulties surrounding the wedding, including his mother's reaction to the guest list and the first dance. He stated that the couple wished to "create new memories that bring us joy and happiness" after the initial wedding caused "anxiety and embarrassment."

He cited an instance where his mother allegedly called him "evil" during wedding planning and described an uncomfortable situation during his first dance with Peltz, which was reportedly taken over by his mother.

The couple recently holidayed in France, narrowly missing an encounter with Beckham's parents, David and Victoria Beckham, who were also in the South of France. This marks one of the closest proximity instances for Brooklyn and his family in months, as he has reportedly been avoiding family gatherings, including their annual yacht trips.

Brooklyn Beckham was seen socializing with his godfather, Elton John, and his husband David Furnish on a yacht near Nice. His parents, meanwhile, were reportedly holidaying on their yacht in Saint-Tropez, approximately 75 miles away.
