Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz, were in Saint-Tropez on Sunday, where they narrowly missed an encounter with his estranged parents, David and Victoria Beckham.
The couple visited the Barbarac ice cream parlor for a treat, having recently spent time on the yacht of their godfather, Elton John. According to reports, David and Victoria Beckham had left the same location just five minutes prior to Brooklyn and Peltz's arrival. The famous couple were later seen having lunch with basketball legend Michael Jordan.
Brooklyn Beckham, 27, and Peltz maintained a low-key appearance during their outing. Peltz wore a mini-skirt and displayed an ankle tattoo, while Beckham opted for a white t-shirt and black shorts. They were accompanied by Elton John's husband, David Furnish.
This is not the first time Brooklyn Beckham has opted out of family gatherings. He did not join the Beckhams for their annual trip on their yacht, the £16 million Seven, this year. This marks a continuation of the estrangement that began around the time of David Beckham's 50th birthday celebrations.
Reports indicate that the rift intensified in January when Brooklyn Beckham released a six-page statement denouncing his parents and declaring himself no longer part of "Brand Beckham." He alleged that his parents had exerted excessive control throughout his life, attempted to create discord between him and Peltz, and embarrassed him at his wedding. He has not publicly acknowledged his parents' birthdays or other significant milestones since the rift began.
Last year, shortly before Christmas, Brooklyn Beckham blocked his parents on Instagram. His legal representatives later communicated with the Beckhams' team, requesting that all future correspondence be handled through legal channels.
Prior to their visit to Saint-Tropez, David and Victoria Beckham had been traveling in the Balearic Islands with their sons Romeo and Cruz, daughter Harper, and Romeo's girlfriend.
