Brooke Burke, 54, is on a mission to reframe the perception of menopause, aiming to 'make menopause sexy' and foster greater awareness around the topic. The model turned health advocate stated that the 50s do not have to be a difficult decade, asserting that this period can be the best of one's life.

Burke discussed menopause during an exclusive interview with The Daily Mail at Joyburst's Joy Summit in Malibu. She highlighted the array of symptoms women may experience, including hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, and emotional changes. Burke emphasized the importance of women becoming their own health advocates as they approach and go through menopause.

"I'm so invested in being an advocate for women's health, and being an educator, that I didn't find myself in a lost space, but I found myself suffering through the changes in the body and not necessarily knowing. Women don't always know they're in it when they're in it," Burke said. She advises women to maintain a strong relationship with their doctors and to be prepared to understand their unique health journey.

Now on the other side of menopause, Burke is actively involved in supporting women through this transitional phase. She noted the common feelings of shame, confusion, and mystery surrounding the significant bodily changes women experience, such as shifts in energy, libido, skin elasticity, and weight gain. Burke believes that embracing and adapting to these bodily changes is crucial.

"We need that support system. We need answers," she stated, adding that the 50s 'are not supposed to suck.' Burke, who has undergone hormone replacement therapy, believes that menopause is a conversation that has historically been overlooked in Western medicine but is now gaining more attention.

As the founder of the fitness app Brooke Burke Body, launched in 2017, Burke has a long-standing focus on health and wellness. She advocates for a long-term approach to fitness and weight management, emphasizing active mobility, body sculpting, and strength training to protect muscle mass in women over 50. She advises against quick fixes and fad diets, promoting a lifestyle of consistent rituals.

Burke's career includes hosting television shows such as 'Wild On,' 'Rock Star,' and 'She's Got The Look,' as well as co-hosting 'Dancing With The Stars' after winning its seventh season. She also hosts 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us.' Burke is a mother of two and is engaged to Scott Rigsby.
