Steve Baldwin denies recollection of childhood incident described by his daughter, former CNN anchor.
Steve Baldwin, father of former CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin, has responded to his daughter's recent accusations of childhood abuse, stating he has no recollection of the incident. Brooke Baldwin, 47, previously shared a personal account alleging her father physically disciplined her with a belt, describing it as an act that left her in "full-body panic."
Baldwin hosted CNN Newsroom for over 11 years. In a Substack post, she detailed her experiences, using a headline that read, "Sh*t That Stays With Us. My Father. The Belt." The former anchor also addressed her departure from CNN in 2021, linking to a 2024 opinion piece where she accused the network of "muzzling" her.
According to his daughter, Steve and Brooke Baldwin are now estranged. The anchor stated in her Substack post that she was let go by CNN CEO Jeff Zucker in early 2021, alleging it was due to a dispute with her male executive producer. At the time of her firing, Baldwin did not publicly disclose the circumstances surrounding her exit from the network.
