Former CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin has publicly accused Megyn Kelly of spreading false information about her sex life, asserting that Kelly misrepresented a personal Substack post and subsequently propagated inaccurate claims to millions of followers. Baldwin stated that Kelly's nearly nine-minute segment wrongly suggested Baldwin had admitted to having casual sex with multiple men, when in reality, Baldwin had written about declining advances from four men.

Baldwin discovered the misrepresentation when a contact inquired about an incident involving her and Kelly. She learned that Kelly had dedicated a segment of her show to Baldwin's Substack, falsely framing it as a confession of casual sex. "That is how I discovered that Megyn Kelly had devoted nearly nine minutes of her show this week to my most recent Substack – one she falsely claimed was about my having ‘casual sex,’" Baldwin, 47, wrote in her own Substack on Sunday.

Kelly, 55, had claimed on her podcast that Baldwin, a former "serious news anchor," now focuses on "Her work and her mission include banging four men in a month." This statement contrasted sharply with Baldwin's original post, where she detailed receiving attention from four men, including a man who "used to run a country" and another who "literally flew in just to take me to dinner." However, Baldwin emphasized that she explicitly stated, "Turned them all down. Every. Single. One."

Baldwin described the experience as deeply upsetting, stating, "Most astoundingly, she cited me as the source." She criticized Kelly's segment for framing an entire discussion around a false account of her personal life, amplified by three male co-hosts who allegedly "cackled, laughed, and berated me."

According to Baldwin, Kelly also disseminated these false claims across her social media, podcast accounts, and SiriusXM broadcasts. These claims were then clipped and shared by other outlets, none of which, Baldwin noted, appeared to have read her original Substack post. "This is Journalism 101," Baldwin stated. "Instead, this is how a lie gets multiplied and multiplied and multiplied. And this is how reputations are ruined."

Kelly later acknowledged not having read Baldwin's full Substack post. While walking back the specific claim, Kelly also reiterated criticism of Baldwin. "Well, as it turns out, we should have paid to read the rest of her stupid Substack, which we didn’t, because, who gives a s–t about Brooke Baldwin, to be honest?" Kelly commented. "And in the paid pieces of the article, she confesses she actually did not have casual sex with these men! It was all just a teaser to get you to pay to listen to her lame recitations about her life."

Baldwin, who was married to British producer James Fletcher before filing for divorce in 2023, had also recently shared a personal experience on her Substack about believing she was sexually assaulted. She recounted an incident from when she was 21, alleging that two older men may have drugged her drink during a trip to Los Angeles, leading her to wake up on a hotel bathroom floor next to an unknown man. Baldwin also previously alleged in a 2024 Vanity Fair essay that her departure from CNN was not entirely voluntary, stating that then-CNN president Jeff Zucker had wanted her to leave.
