Brock Turner, Once Convicted of Sexual Assault, Lives Under New Identity

Brock Turner, the former Stanford University swimmer whose 2015 sexual assault conviction ignited national outrage, is reportedly living under a new identity and maintaining a semblance of a family life, nearly a decade after the incident. Turner, now 31, was convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman behind a fraternity house dumpster in January 2015. His subsequent sentencing to just three months in county jail, with probation, sparked widespread public outcry and accusations of a lenient judicial response.

Fresh reports indicate Turner has adopted a new name and is residing in Oakwood, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton where he grew up and attended high school. Property records show he purchased a two-bedroom home in the area for $162,500 in December 2021. This new chapter unfolds as his family image faces renewed attention following the scandal. His parents, Carleen and Dan Turner, who had publicly pleaded for leniency for their son during his trial, divorced in April of the current year after nearly 38 years of marriage. His mother, Carleen, has reportedly made public posts about the divorce, describing it as 'sucks' and 'his choice, not mine.'

Turner's victim, Chanel Miller, later waived her anonymity in 2019 and published a bestselling memoir titled "Know My Name," detailing her experience and advocating for victims of sexual assault. The case and its aftermath prompted widespread discussions about campus sexual assault, judicial sentencing, and victim advocacy. Turner, who was 19 and a freshman at Stanford at the time of the assault, was also banned from campus and required to register as a sex offender. He has largely remained out of the public eye since his conviction.
