Lynne Spears, mother of pop star Britney Spears, shared a collection of summer photos featuring her grandchildren and family members. The social media post included images from various events such as high school graduations, a First Holy Communion, and outings to the X-Games.
While the photos showcased Lynne with grandchildren Maddie, Ivey, and Lexie, Britney's sons Jayden and Sean Federline were not visibly present. Lynne included photos of Jayden at the Eiffel Tower and walking a runway in Paris, alongside mentions of his girlfriend.
Britney Spears has previously spoken about a complicated relationship with her mother. In 2021, she alleged that Lynne had suggested the conservatorship that controlled her life for years, stating, "I will never get those years back" and claiming her mother "secretly ruined my life."
Despite past conflicts, Spears has also expressed a desire to reconcile with her mother. In 2022, she wrote on Instagram, "Mom we can go have coffee together now !!! I’m treated as an equal … let’s have coffee and talk about it !!" The two were also seen together in a photograph in 2023.
The recent post follows past comments from Britney Spears where she criticized her parents for having "secret outings" with her sons. "The pictures I saw of my mom and dad in secret on the beach the whole summer with my children every weekend … I wondered why I wasn’t a part of their cool secret outings," Spears wrote, adding that she felt "demoralized."
Britney Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline share their two sons. Spears was placed under a court-ordered conservatorship in February 2008, which was terminated in November 2021.
