Unseen police bodycam footage captures an American officer making a flippant remark about a British woman who traveled to Florida with the stated intention of being killed. Sonia Exelby, 32, was reported missing from her home in Portsmouth, England, on October 12 last year. Authorities later determined she had flown approximately 4,000 miles to Florida to meet a man she had paid to torture and kill her.

Exelby, described as a vulnerable digital content creator who struggled with mental health issues, embarked on the fatal journey seeking a violent death from an individual she encountered in an online fetish chatroom. Her body was discovered buried in a shallow grave in remote woodland in Marion Oaks, Florida, on October 17.

Dwain Hall, 53, has been charged with Exelby's murder and kidnapping. He allegedly sexually abused and tortured the British national before killing her in a remote Airbnb they were sharing. Hall is scheduled to face trial in November.

The Daily Mail obtained bodycam footage from the Marion County Sheriff's Office, including recordings of Hall's arrest and interrogation. In one video, an officer is heard discussing the case with his mother on the early morning of October 18, shortly after Exelby's body was found. While guarding the crime scene, the officer, on a birthday call with his mother, described Exelby as a "crazy freakin' lady from the UK" who connected with a man online.

"She told him all her sexual fantasies, and he was like, 'I could facilitate that.' And she was like, 'At the end of it I wanna be killed.' And he facilitated that too," the officer stated. He also noted that Hall was reportedly using Exelby's credit cards afterward.

Exelby was identified through her fingerprints. A shovel found at Hall's residence contained soil that matched the burial site, and blood found on the shovel was confirmed to be a positive match for Exelby. An autopsy revealed she had been stabbed four times.

Bodycam footage also shows Hall's arrest. After being pulled over while driving with his wife, Ginger Stein, Hall appeared agitated upon spotting a Fugitive Task Force vehicle. "What the f***. What did I do? What could I possibly have f***ing done?" he exclaimed. He also expressed concern for his wife, who had undergone a double lung transplant.

During other footage of Hall being taken for questioning, he appeared more relaxed, joking with an officer about being taken away from his morning coffee and making a remark about not hopping a fence. He was later heard complaining about back pain while waiting in an interview room.

Hall has been arrested on charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping. He was also previously detained on charges of fraudulently using Exelby's credit cards.

Transcripts obtained by the Daily Mail from Hall's conversations with his wife in jail reveal his apparent resignation. "I don't think I'm ever coming home," he told her. He also expressed frustration at being portrayed as a "monster," insisting he was trying to help Exelby and give her what she wanted in a compassionate way. "I don't believe I did anything wrong," he stated.

Investigators previously revealed that Exelby had recorded footage detailing how she wanted to die. In the video, she appeared disheveled and showed signs of torture. When asked how she wanted to die, she eventually said she wanted to be stabbed.

Relatives of Exelby have paid tribute to her, describing her as a beautiful, kind, and compassionate person with a gentle soul. They recalled her talents, including playing the piano and singing, and noted her ability to make others feel safe and accepted. Exelby, the youngest of six siblings, shared a close bond with her sister Sara and had a long-term relationship with Stevie.

An investigation into the circumstances of Exelby's death is ongoing. Hall is set to face trial in November.
