British citizens Craig and Lindsay Foreman have concluded hunger strikes they began in May, protesting their treatment and detention in Iran. Craig Foreman had abstained from food for 93 days, while Lindsay Foreman's strike lasted 84 days.

The couple, who deny charges of espionage, were arrested in January 2025 while traveling through Iran on a motorcycle journey from Europe to Australia. They were initially sentenced to 10 years in prison in February. According to Craig Foreman's family, his sentence was extended by two years after he spoke to the media.

The hunger strikes commenced when prison authorities reportedly prevented the couple from contacting their families. The family stated that the protest was also a general demonstration against the conditions faced by prisoners.

During the final five days of the protest, five individuals in the United Kingdom, including Lindsay Foreman's son Joe Bennett, joined the couple in solidarity with their hunger strike. Other prisoners within Tehran's Evin jail also participated. Bennett stated that his mother and Craig Foreman wanted the end of their protest to signify something larger than themselves, representing universal values such as truth, justice, kindness, peace, and unity.

The family indicated that the couple consumed only milk and water with either honey or salt during their hunger strikes, though they were not aware of the couple's current condition. The couple had also undertaken a previous hunger strike in November, which the family described as a "cry out for help."
