A British couple detained in Iran, Craig and Lindsay Foreman, are reportedly on a prolonged hunger strike and their family is increasingly worried about their access to medical care and supplies. The couple has allegedly refused food for nine and eight weeks, respectively, due to concerns about their prison conditions.

According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency (Hrana), a US-based organization, Lindsay Foreman has lost approximately 14 kilograms (31 pounds) and is experiencing severe symptoms including vertigo, tremors, and profound physical weakness. Her family states she is now "dangerously weak."

Craig Foreman, who initiated his hunger strike when phone access was reportedly cut off, has lost around 16 kilograms (35 pounds), Hrana reported. A letter from the family, published on Tuesday, appealed to the couple to remember their loved ones and to stay alive and well.

"We need your voices, your presence, your laughter, and your company," the letter reads. "We need you well. We need you alive."
