British Comedians Reunite for Patricia Hodge's 80th Birthday Celebration

Miranda Hart reunited with her "Miranda" co-stars Sarah Hadland and Sally Phillips to celebrate Patricia Hodge's 80th birthday. The gathering took place as Hart continues to manage the lingering effects of ME/chronic fatigue syndrome, following a battle with Lyme disease.

Hadland, who played Miranda's best friend Stevie Sutton, shared photographs from the event on Instagram. The images showed Hart, Hadland, Phillips, and Hodge posing together. "Our divine dame Hodglington is 80 today," Hadland captioned the post. "What I call a reunion: WE LOVE OOOO so much Hodlington you are an absolute Queen. Thank you for having us... SUCH FUN."

Hodge portrayed Miranda's formidable mother, Penny, in the popular BBC comedy. Hart starred as the titular character, an awkward woman navigating adult life, while Phillips played her friend Tilly. The sitcom originally aired from 2009 to 2015.

Hart is preparing for her television comeback on "Celebrity Traitors," scheduled to air on October 1st. She described the opportunity as a source of immense joy after a period of ill health. "I haven't done much TV work for a long time, having only recently come out of long-term ill health issues, and when I was offered this, my whole body sort of relaxed, I smiled, and I just wanted to jump about like a schoolgirl with joy," she stated.

It took 33 years for medical professionals to diagnose Hart with Lyme disease, having previously been misdiagnosed with agoraphobia. She also received a diagnosis of ME, or chronic fatigue syndrome, a condition characterized by debilitating fatigue not alleviated by rest. Following the success of "Miranda," Hart has largely remained out of the public eye, with limited television appearances.

Phillips recently reprised her role as Shazzer in "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy." Hadland participated in the BBC's "Strictly Come Dancing," reaching the final with her partner Vito Coppola.
