A British Airways pilot fell ill mid-flight on a journey from Hyderabad, India, to London Heathrow earlier this week, leading the airline to review its crew accommodation in the Indian city. The incident occurred on Flight BA276.

British Airways confirmed that one of its pilots became unwell during the approximately 10-hour and 30-minute flight. The airline stated that the aircraft continued safely to its destination and that passenger safety was never compromised. "The welfare of our colleagues is a top priority, and we are reviewing crew accommodation in this location following some isolated reports of sickness," a British Airways spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

The crew had stayed overnight in Hyderabad as part of a standard long-haul layover. Reports suggest the pilots ate breakfast together in their hotel lounge and consumed bottled water provided by an outside supplier. On the return flight to London, the co-pilot was reportedly incapacitated and required oxygen. The remaining pilots continued to operate the aircraft, but were also reportedly unwell after landing in the U.K., though British Airways did not confirm these specific details.

The incident has sparked discussion online, with some social media users drawing comparisons to the 1980 comedy film "Airplane!" which features a flight crew incapacitated by food poisoning. The airline is investigating the matter.
