Britannia Hotels Group has responded to criticism regarding the breakfast offerings at its Coventry hotel, which was described by a Daily Mail Hotel Inspector as among the 'worst' in the UK. A spokesperson for the group expressed disappointment with the assessment.

The hotel group stated that they continually review the quality, variety, and presentation of their food, with the breakfast designed to offer guests a substantial and affordable start to their day. They acknowledged that guest preferences and expectations can differ and welcomed feedback as a means to improve.

The inspector's critique highlighted issues such as "fried eggs swimming in fat," "baked beans that have developed a crust," and "instant coffee from a plastic sachet." Other negative guest experiences cited included "plain bagels or DIY sweet waffles" and "bacon was rock hard, scrambled eggs were orange and completely tasteless."

Britannia Hotels Group emphasized their commitment to providing a welcoming experience and good value for money, and that they remain dedicated to improving their standards.
