Bridget Fonda, 62, was seen in Los Angeles on Tuesday sporting a noticeably slimmer physique, marking a continuation of her dramatic weight loss. The retired actress, known for her roles in films like "Jackie Brown," has reportedly lost approximately 100 pounds over the past year.
Fonda appeared in a white top paired with a long-sleeve blue button-down shirt, black flowing pants, and sneakers. She accessorized with spectacles and a black crochet bag while carrying a retail gift bag. This appearance follows sightings in recent weeks where she has also been seen showing off her arms.
Her family background includes notable figures in Hollywood, with her father being the late actor Peter Fonda and her aunt being Jane Fonda. Sources suggest that since her weight loss, Fonda has regained confidence and is even considering a return to acting.
Nutritionists have speculated on the methods behind her significant weight reduction. Dr. Wilks, a weight specialist, suggested in February that the weight loss could be attributed to medications like GLP-1, commonly found in drugs such as Ozempic and Zepbound, which are used to treat diabetes and can lead to rapid weight loss. Alternatively, he posited that a natural approach would involve a substantial decrease in sugar, carbohydrates, and dairy intake.
Fonda, who married composer Danny Elfman in 2003, largely withdrew from public life after a severe car accident in that same year, which resulted in two fractured vertebrae. She subsequently focused on recovery and raising their son, born in 2005.
In 2023, Fonda had stated that a return to film work was unlikely, remarking, "I don't think so, it's too nice being a civilian." Her career began with a small role at age five in her father's 1969 film "Easy Rider." She became a prominent actress in the late 1980s and 1990s, starring in films such as "Scandal," "The Godfather Part III," "Single White Female," "A Simple Plan," and "Jackie Brown." Her last on-screen appearance was in the 2002 television film "The Snow Queen."
