A wedding reception in Wisconsin erupted into violence when a dispute over a guest eating meatballs without a plate escalated to gunfire, injuring two people and leading the bride to disarm the alleged shooter.
The incident occurred last month when a cousin of the bride observed a groomsman eating meatballs directly with his hands in the kitchen area. When she suggested he use a plate, the groomsman allegedly punched her. The bride's brother-in-law reportedly intervened in the ensuing argument, and gunshots were fired.
Witnesses identified the alleged shooter as Thomas Redrick Williams, a friend of the groomsman. According to the criminal complaint, as officers arrived, the bride handed them a key fob. She reported seeing a man known as "Boog" leave the kitchen with a gun and stated she had wrestled the key fob away from him as he attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle. Williams then fled on foot.
Two other witnesses corroborated the account of the shooting to police. Authorities have issued a warrant for Williams' arrest and are actively searching for him. He faces multiple felony charges, including two counts of first-degree reckless injury with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and bail jumping.
