A McDonald's restaurant in Northeast Ohio became the venue for a wedding last Saturday as co-workers Jamie and George Callicoat exchanged vows. The dining room was closed to the public for the ceremony and reception, though customers continued to use the kiosks and drive-thru.

Bride Jamie Callicoat, a manager at the restaurant, stated that despite the venue being used for her wedding, "It's still work." She was seen handing out extra sauces to a customer while wearing her wedding dress.

The ceremony and reception have since gained significant attention online, with McDonald's of Northeast Ohio reporting over 20 million impressions across Instagram and Facebook. The newlyweds returned to work the following Tuesday, where they were congratulated by customers and regular visitors, including the Brinks armored car crew.

Jamie and George Callicoat met through mutual friends in June 2025 and began dating. George, a crew trainer at the same McDonald's, trained Jamie when she started working there in October 2025. The couple got engaged at Cedar Point amusement park, where they initially planned to marry. A suggestion from a district manager to hold the wedding at their workplace led to the decision.

"Crew members and managers came together to help make the couple’s wedding day special, providing dinner, a wedding cake and other touches for the celebration," McDonald's stated in a news release. The husband of the restaurant's general manager officiated the ceremony.

The couple handled some decorations and food, including pulled barbecue chicken, buffalo chicken dip, homemade rigatoni, and fried chicken for guests. The flower girl tossed petals from a Happy Meal box. Jamie called the outcome "perfect," expressing gratitude towards her co-workers, bosses, and McDonald's for allowing the event.

McDonald's shared on its official Instagram account that the event was a "modern day love story."
