A public dispute between a bride-to-be and a California bridal shop has gained significant online attention after the shop posted images of the bride's wedding dress weeks before her wedding.

Shaina Franklin, a TikTok influencer, took to social media to express her distress over alterations made to her wedding gown at San Diego-based Bridal and Veil. Franklin claimed the work resulted in a poorly fitted dress, describing issues such as "wadded" fabric around the ribs, twisted buttons, and a misaligned zipper. According to Franklin, the shop ultimately ordered her a new dress, which she then had altered elsewhere.

In response to Franklin's complaints, Bridal and Veil reportedly posted videos on TikTok that showed the altered dress next to a sample version. The shop also allegedly displayed a paper with Franklin's name attached to the dress, which critics interpreted as an attempt to spoil the bride's "big reveal" at her wedding. The shop accused Franklin of damaging their reputation despite their efforts to accommodate her.

Franklin shared her reaction to the dress being posted online, stating she was "heartbroken" that her gown was revealed to her guests, friends, and future husband before the ceremony. Her videos documenting the situation garnered millions of views and ignited a debate online.

While some social media users expressed sympathy for Franklin, others criticized her reaction, with comments suggesting she was overreacting. Some users pointed out that guests are unlikely to focus on or remember the specifics of a wedding dress. However, other social media users shared similar negative experiences with the bridal shop, including a past incident where a bride's gown was reportedly lost and later found to be significantly the wrong size close to her wedding date.

The controversy highlights the increasing trend of bridal disputes playing out on social media platforms, prompting discussions about customer service expectations and the online sharing of personal events.
