New York Giants pass rusher Brian Burns is feared to have suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's 12-7 victory over the Tennessee Titans, according to ESPN. The injury marks another significant blow to the team, potentially sidelining their most important defensive player just one week after their most important offensive player, quarterback Jaxson Dart, was lost for the season.
Burns, who had been playing with an ankle sprain sustained in Week 2, went down in the fourth quarter against the Titans and did not return to the game. Giants head coach John Harbaugh expressed cautious optimism, stating, "There is some hope there, but we won’t know until we see the MRI."
This injury to Burns follows closely behind the season-ending knee injury sustained by quarterback Jaxson Dart. Dart's injury, which included damage to his MCL and PCL, occurred the previous week, leaving the Giants to face the remainder of their season without both key playmakers.
