Brian Austin Green has reflected on his past marriage to Megan Fox, admitting that he prioritized physical attraction when the relationship began. Green, who was 30 when he met an 18-year-old Fox in 2004 on the set of their sitcom "Hope & Faith," stated on the "I Do, Part 2" podcast that he tended to "lead with physical attraction" and build relationships around that initial pull.
Green and Fox were together for nearly 15 years and married for almost 10 before their divorce was finalized in 2022. The couple had separated twice, in 2009 and 2015, prior to their final split. They share three sons: Noah, 13, Bodhi, 12, and Journey, who will celebrate his 10th birthday on August 4.
Fox has since welcomed a daughter, Saga, with Machine Gun Kelly, with whom she has had an on-again, off-again relationship since March 2020. Green, meanwhile, began dating Sharna Burgess in October 2020. He described his approach to Burgess as different, emphasizing the importance of friendship, transparency, and genuine connection from the outset.
"Your approach to a relationship is the best way to know if it's just a purely physical connection," Green said. "That's only going to last for so long that you're going to get to a point where you go, 'I can't stand that other person. So they're not hot to me anymore.'"
Green and Burgess, who competed together on "Dancing with the Stars" in 2020, are engaged and recently toured their future wedding venue in Ireland. They are parents to a four-year-old son, Zane, and co-parent with Green's children from his previous relationship with actress Vanessa Marcil.
Regarding his co-parenting dynamic, Green noted that the time his children spend with their mother allows him to recharge. "Then when they come back over, I can give them all of my attention," he said. "And I've spent the four days out of the seven days or whatever it is just taking care of myself and being with my partner that I have now and doing things for me so I don't have that overwhelmed feeling the same way when my kids come back."
Green's previous relationship with Marcil, his "Beverly Hills, 90210" co-star, resulted in a lengthy legal battle concerning a loan and custody of their son, Kassius. Green's past relationships also include brief romances with "Beverly Hills, 90210" co-stars Tori Spelling and Tiffani Thiessen, among others.
Looking ahead, Green is scheduled to appear at UltraCon Comic Con in Palm Beach, Florida, from September 18-20. He also recently completed work on an independent film titled "Eat Your Heart Out."
