Brian Austin Green Explains Absence from DWTS Audience Due to Production Rules

Brian Austin Green has explained his recent absences from the "Dancing With the Stars" audience, stating that production has become stricter about allowing young children in attendance. This change has prevented him from frequently cheering on his fiancée, professional dancer Sharna Burgess.

"I was there a lot in the beginning," Green told Us Weekly, "but production cracked down a little bit on young kids being there." He clarified that he cannot attend with his and Burgess's 4-year-old son, Zane, nor with his three children from his previous marriage to Megan Fox: Noah, 14; Bodhi, 12; and Journey, 10.

Green added that he and Burgess work out a schedule that allows him to attend shows when a sitter is available for their son. "I’m always there, whether I’m sitting in the audience or I’m sitting at home watching. I’m always rooting for [Sharna]," he said. "So we figure out from episode to episode what works."

Burgess, who is partnered with "The Bachelorette" alum Tyler Cameron this season, returned to "DWTS" as a professional dancer for the first time in five years. Green acknowledged that Burgess's demanding schedule has created a new dynamic for their relationship. "They have a lot of stuff that they do, so it’s not the time that I’m used to [having] with her," he noted. "It’s just taking getting used to. It is going OK, it’s going to be really busy for the next month and a half if she makes it all the way to the end."

He expressed his understanding of the situation, comparing it to his own work commitments. "Then it’ll be the same thing when I’m gone doing something. She’ll be holding down the fort. We are learning the trade-off of that," Green said.

Earlier this month, Green had shared on Instagram Stories that he was feeling "incredibly lonely" due to Burgess's demanding schedule, which prompted criticism from podcast host Kaitlyn Bristowe. Bristowe, a former "DWTS" contestant, suggested Green should seek therapy rather than express his feelings publicly.

Green and Burgess began dating in 2020 and competed together on Season 30 of "DWTS" in 2021. They welcomed son Zane in 2022 and became engaged shortly thereafter.
