Brewers Take NLCS Lead Over Dodgers in Game 1 Victory

The Milwaukee Brewers have taken a 1-0 lead in the National League Championship Series (NLCS) against the Los Angeles Dodgers, winning Game 1 after a series of seven consecutive playoff losses to their opponent dating back to 2018. The Brewers, who finished the regular season with 103 wins, will aim to extend their lead in Game 2 later today.

Game 1 was a low-scoring contest, with the Brewers securing a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning before their bullpen held off the Dodgers for the remainder of the game. The series now shifts to American Family Field for Game 2 before returning to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4.

Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto is scheduled to start Game 2 for Los Angeles. Last year, Yamamoto pitched a complete game in Game 2 of the NLCS, and in the current postseason, he recorded ten strikeouts over seven innings in a previous start. Logan Henderson is expected to pitch for the Brewers in Game 2.

Game 2 of the NLCS is scheduled to begin on October 12 at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on FOX. Viewers without cable can stream the game for free by signing up for a five-day free trial of DIRECTV's Choice package, which includes FOX.
